Privacy policy
Written to be read rather than to satisfy a template. If a line is unclear, ask and we will put it in plainer words.
This policy explains what Pinner Removals does with personal information collected through this website and in the ordinary course of quoting for and carrying out removals, packing and storage across Pinner and HA5.
Who is responsible
Pinner Removals is the data controller. Questions, requests and complaints go to contact@pinner-removals.co.uk, where a person reads them.
What we collect
Through the quote form
Your name, telephone number, email address, the pickup address, the drop-off address, an optional moving date and optional notes — used to answer your enquiry and, where you proceed, to carry out the work.
Through correspondence and surveys
Whatever you choose to tell us plus the contact details you use. Where a survey takes place we record the volume, the access, the staircase and any items needing particular care or valuation. Photographs you send of a hall, a staircase or an approach are kept with the enquiry.
Where goods go into storage
An inventory of what is held, the storage agreement, and the contact details needed to reach you. We must be able to identify you before releasing anything, so these are kept while the goods are with us and for a period afterwards.
When you simply read the site
Standard server logs and, where analytics is enabled, aggregate measurement of which pages are read. No advertising trackers and no cross-site profiling.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- To answer an enquiry you made.
- To perform the contract once a booking exists.
- Legitimate interests: records of work quoted and carried out, protecting our crew and vehicles, and understanding which pages are useful.
- Legal obligation, for accounting and tax records.
Spam protection
The quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA to separate genuine enquiries from automated ones; it receives technical signals from your browser under Google's own terms.
Who else sees it
- Our hosting and email providers, processing data on our instructions.
- Insurers, where a claim is made — including where a valuation on the inventory is relevant to it.
- Customs authorities and clearing agents on a European move, where the inventory and residence documents are the basis of clearance.
- Our accountant, and anyone we are legally obliged to inform.
Enquiry data is never sold and never passed to other removals firms or to lead brokers. Where we refer you to a firm in a neighbouring town, we give you their details rather than giving them yours.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for a reasonable period in case you return, then deleted. Records of completed work are kept for accounting, insurance and claims purposes; storage records while goods are held and for a period after redelivery.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability. Email contact@pinner-removals.co.uk and the request will be handled within the statutory period. Where something cannot be deleted — an inventory of goods currently in store, or records inside a legal retention period — we will say which category applies rather than refusing without explanation. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
No marketing or advertising cookies are set here. Analytics, where enabled, sets measurement cookies only, and blocking them affects nothing on this site.
Changes
Material changes appear on this page. The terms that apply to a specific job are those issued with your quote. See also our terms and contact details.
