What it is
A van and a crew who load it, using the same blankets, corner protection and straps we use on a house move. The only difference is how much of it there is.
What it is not is a vehicle with a driver who watches. If you would rather do the lifting, hiring a van is cheaper and we will say so.
Antiques and single pieces
A good share of this work in HA5 is one valuable thing rather than many ordinary ones — a chest going to a daughter, a dresser bought at a saleroom, a piece coming back from restoration.
Tell us what it actually is. A mahogany chest, a marble-topped washstand and a pine blanket box are all "one item" and all want different handling, different padding and sometimes a different number of people.

How many people come?
Two, on anything with furniture in it. One person and a wardrobe on a period staircase is how banisters and door frames get damaged.
Will you collect from a dealer or a saleroom?
Regularly — antiques, a single piece of furniture, a purchase that needs collecting from another county. Send the address, any reference, the seller's window and a description of the item.
Can you move one room rather than a house?
Yes. A room, a study, a garage-full or a few large pieces are all ordinary part-load work.
When should we book the full service instead?
Past a couple of rooms of furniture. At that point a man-and-van booking becomes several trips and a long day, and a proper removal is both quicker and better value.
Is the wrapping the same?
Identical to a full move: blankets, corner protection and straps. Only the quantity changes.
